the dumb $2 bill featured post
original post found here - http://www.dollarish.com/705979847/the-rare-2-bill/
my commentary is in bold.
Being one of the oldest currency note
oldest currency note? perhaps in the US. and actually its the oldest DESIGN for american bills.
the two dollar bill seems to be one of those myths people talk about.
myths? its no myth. the bill exists.
I have never even seen one myself, which isn't strange since under 1% of the bills are actually out in circulation.
misleading comment. its not that less than 1% of all $2 bills are in circulation. less than 1% of all circulated forms of american paper currency that are printed are $2 bills
I found an interesting website to track these unique bills. Wheres George not only tracks regular bills, but the two dollar bill as well. By entering the serial number, you're letting the world know the two dollar bill is alive!
oddly enough, most people knew about this site for years. further, the $2 bill has been alive since the 1800s. but where can you get them? *GASP!* you can simply ask for them at the bank!
Since it is rarely used and hardly seen, that is if you dont do your research and know you can ask for them at the bank
is there any point in even making the two dollar bill? Its interesting to know how special this bill is, but besides that, it serves no purpose when often stores refuse to accept these bills.
Seignorage! Seignorage is the profit that the Mint makes on the difference between how much the currency costs to produce (in the case of bills, a few cents) and its face value if the currency is taken out of circulation. The Treasury makes comparatively little in seignorage on $1 bills, because they’re so incredibly common that hardly anyone intentionally takes them out of circulation by saving them. But $2 bills go out of circulation very frequently due to to people saving them and then never spending them, so the Treasury makes a pretty penny.
Should the U.S. stop making two dollar bills? Have you ever seen a two dollar bill?
no they shouldnt stop making it, but perhaps xanga (or rather dollarish) should stop featuring idiotic posts from people who are ill informed. have i seen $2 bills? yeah. a lot in fact. because i actually prefer using them over $1 bills. funny how that works.

You are very passionate about your currency.
I've seen plenty myself. Man... I'm hoping John follows through and we see better work on the Xister sites.
haha
So odd.
Lol, I thought that post was stupid.
I like $2. Sadly I rarely have cash, but next time I take out money I'll see if I can get it all in $2. I wonder if they'll hate me at my bank after that.....
I always wondered why this one scrap metal place down here offers to have their customers paid in "$2 bills!!!11!" They're so excited about it. Any idea why that would be so important?
I didn't read that $2 bill post, but I'm glad I didn't. Just from what you posted it sounds retarded.
@StewieIsMyHero - oddly enough there are a lot of people who are excited about the $2 bill. the only way to truly get it into circulation is to use the bill (aka not save them). so there are people who will make it a point to try and push them out there into the market. thats only one piece though. my guess is that the scrap place draws in some extra people because they offer payment in those bills, since they are a "rare" bill of sorts.
"why did you buy this cereal over the other, even though they were the same price"
"well this one came with a prize in it."
same mentality.
Oooh, gotcha. That makes sense. Hopefully the people who get paid in these bills aren't hoarders.
I always get the cereal with the prize, duh!
now do this for the rest of the featured
I haven't seen them, but I think I may ask for them at the bank. :P
And that is a pretty dumb post.
@tjordanm - actually thats what my site may become. debunking the featured posts.
@lyricsninja - Do it!
LMAO I love your sarcasm!
I agree with the last point. They really said it was a myth? I work in retail and see them all the time.
After reading the post, I had to rec your post. Did you see how many run on sentences that girl had? I'm not a grammar nazi, and her post made me cringe.
I work part-time at a bank as a teller... I hate those $2 bills, they are everywhere and very few people want them.
In 2000 or 2001 I had a 2 dollar bill. I had never seen one before so I wasn't even sure if it was real. But I found out that it was, hesitated spending it, but eventually did. I don't remember where, but wherever it was, the store accepted it, no questions asked. I haven't seen one since tho.
I get them at work every once in a while. I love it when people use them to make exact change.
